The first day for 3D programming we played around on Alice.
I made this video in about 45 minutes or so by just playing around with alice.

I wanted to make it look like the dinosaur and the dragon were chasing the old man around the volcano.

This was the code used to get them to "run" around the volcano.

This was the code used to get them to rotate or turn at the right point. Both of these together make them move in a square shape. I have them both in an infinite loop so they wont end.

I wanted to make it look more like he was trying to get away from them and they were chasing him so there was more of a point to it. I added the words to show that. This is the code for it.

To get the smoke to look semi realistic I made them move around and thats how I did it. To get each one to move I had to change each one individually. There were 17 clouds of smoke I had to go in and change each ones pattern and direct it to the correct cloud.

Sketch up!

In sketch up I made a house. Using the rectangle tool to make the walls and roof. There was a balcony that you get to by elevator and then you can go back down the elevator or you could go down the slide I put in there. The slide was hard to create because I couldnt tell if it was on the ground or not. or if it was in a straight line or was it at an angle. When I first made it, it was really bad it looked like a "/" except more angled. I originally wanted stairs but I had to go and make each individual stair one by one and they looked bad. I took them out and added the slide.

Visual Python!

We practiced using visual python by making a sphere and having it drop from a position and then have it bounce up and down until it stops.

This was my code for it.

This is the visuall part of what my code created. I couldn't get it to bounce off the wall to the right and I don't know why it moves all squiggly.

I made the earth rotating around the sun by using the same program I used for the ball bouncing.

This was my code for the Planet rotating around the sun. Just by changing the gravity (fgrav) you can change what the rotation looks like. Or even make it not a rotation.
