The white board is called a "breadboard." Today we're using them to make LED lights light up and it was really fun.The white wire is positive and the black wire is negative.
So we plugged the white wire which is positive to one side of the bread board and then we plugged the black wire which is negative on the other side of the board.
We then plugged the transistor in 25,24, and 23. (Make sure the base of the transistor is on 24)
next we plugged the resistors in the bread board on #19 on the positive side to number 18 on row 3.
Then we put a purple wire that helps the electricity transfer place to place on 17 and 24 on row 3 from the half mark.The LEDs were placed on 22 and 23!
Next, plugged the second resistor on the board on the negative side of the board to #21 and #22 on row 3 from the half line.
Get the red wires and connect it from negative to positive on both sides to help the electricity spread!
We didn't get to get the picture above the LED to light up but we tried a different way and got this LED to light up! This is how it should look like!
We started soldering and these are the supplies we got that we're going to solder! We're making a light up robot toy.
This is how the solder machine looks like. After every time you finish soldering, you want to clean it on the sponge that is next to the place holder for the solder.
This is the back of the robot where the battery goes. We put a bit of soldering on the spot where the battery goes so the battery can fit in just perfectly.
We put the battery holder on the back and the legs stick out from the knees of the robot from the front. Then we solder his knee so the battery holder can hold it's place there.
Then we got the pin and put it through his head. We solder the nail so it can stay. The pin is for you can attach it to your shirt, sweater, whatever you want.
Then we got the LEDs (remember the long leg of the LED is positive and the short leg is the negative) and we placed it in his eyes. Solder the LED's legs and then cut them to make them short. Put the battery in and your robot should work!(:
First to get you started, you want to have CEDAR logic in your computer
This is the AND gate, as you can see, when one light in on and the other light is off, the GATE or Light bulb won't turn on. However is the last one when both lights are turned on the Gate or Light bulb will turn on. This means that the AND Gate needs both of the lights to be on for the Gate or Light bulb to be on.
This is the OR Gate, as you can see, it only takes one box to light up to make the light bulb light up, and even when both of them are on, the light still turns on!
This is the NOR Gate, you can see that neither of the boxes are on, yet the light bulb is on. When you turn on one box, the light bulb turns off and when you turn both boxes on, the light bulb still stays off.
This is the NAND Gate. Its the same as the NOR Gate, no boxes are on but the light bulb is on.However when you turn on one box, the light bulb still stays on. Yet when you turn on the both boxes, the light bulb turn off.
