Server Disection

Pictures below are of a server that my group and I have diesected

Today we did trouble shooting by "breaking" the computer and another group had to fix it. WHat I have learned is tht in a server is alot of wiering that is need and not need to run the computer. Also we learned how to fix other computers

The brass thing in the pictures is the heat sink that covers and protecs the CPU.

The big box at the bottom of the pictures is a disc drive and that reads discs that can download content.

The big box at the top of the pictures is a power box and that holds and distributes power through out the server.

The green under everything is called the mother and it transfers signals from one unit of the server to another.

The rainbow like cords are what connects the buttons on the front of the server that allow it to power on.

The pair of black and blue bars are where the memory cards are held and that is the storage for the server.

In the middle picture at the top are little fans that help to keep the computer from over heating.

We had to do something called trouble shooting. We had to make the computer not functional by moving and unplugging cords. So what my group and I did was disconnect the power cord and move the cords around. We finished the other groups problems by putting the cords back in place but when it came to fixing our computer it took us the longest time to find where to put every thing but in the end we got it all back together.
