My Circuits Project
Home
This page will show and tell what me and my classmates have been doing and learning about circuits and soldering
parts on them.
I'll tell how the the inputting circuits went. It went well for a time at the start and middle of our project. We used
basic breadboards and we just basically placed and inserted various gates, transistors, resistors, and LED's. We tried
to lead a electrical power supply to the LED's in many various placements of gates and tran/re sistors to power it. We
did many placements like the OR and AND placements. My group was able to get the first tries and they worked until we
did the third variation of the placements and was stumped for quite awhile. Here is what a breadboard looks like and the
we had to use. It was quite confusing though on where the electric current was going and heading to when we were inputting the wires.
Soldering Practice
Soldering Practice
Next thing I am going to talk about is the skill of soldering components to circuits and motherboards. In this prospect
you melt a piece of lead and tin to attach a component to a motherboard or a circuit. You use a soldering tool to melt the metal
to parts of the circuits. We did this activity to practice soldering and it was fun and gave me an idea for a hobby.Luckily
no one was burnt by the tool and almost 90% of class was done including me. This taught me how to use the tool effectively
and responsibly and how it should be used to fix and probably customize servers. Here is the picture of the tool that solders
and we used. When we started the project some of were hesitant to even touch the soldering pen because they worried it would
really hurt them and they didn't want to be burned. After grabbing and using it for awhile it wasn't too hard to use one and we continued inputting
components to our chips. It was interesting to use the solder and the piece of metal to connect parts to our computer chips and after awhile it became easy to use the
solder without no fear of getting burn, of course there's always a chance. And here is the solder we used.
Result and Variation of Circuits
Result and Variation of Circuits
The projects were fun(as always) but it also showed that there more things to do to circuit boards then what I could ever
think of doing and gave much needed challenge. Of course for veterans it's not much, but to a guy who is new to doing this
kind of stuff it's awesome and helps educate you how we can handle and customize our systems and servers. Overall it was a good experience
to be tampering with wires on a breadboard and melting pieces of metal to glue a components to the circuit or chip. Oh yeah here is an example of
one of the circuits.
Basically these are two alternative ways power can be transported. The AND circuit needed two power sources to give power to the LED which shown in our
experiment. The OR circuit could have one power source or the other one to give power to the LED.
