Circuits
On Monday we messed around with circuits on Cedar Logic.
CEDAR Logic
CEDAR Logic is a program that simulates a breadboard which we were supposed to
use on Monday but we were not able to. What we did do was that we used CEDAR Logic
to make an adder. We used binary to teach the computer to add. Here is what I did:
The picture above is the picture that shows the computer counting one because
one of the switches is on.
The picture on top shows the circuit counting two because two of the switches are on.
Bread Boards
On Tuesday we got to use the breadboards. Bread boards are like the green chips
except that breadboards are easier to use because they don't have soldering. We
made an AND gate and a OR gate.
Simple Circuit
The first thing we did with the breadboards was to make a simple circuit. As you
can see above we used one resistor, one LED, one cable, and a power supply. The
resistor stopped the LED from burning.
OR Gate
We made an OR gate by using two resistors, one transistor, three LEDs, some cables,
and a power supply.
AND Gate
The AND gate was the most complicated. After several attempts we managed to make it
by using two resistors, two transistors, three LEDs, some cables and a power supply.
Soldering
On Thursday we soldered a robot that had eyes that lit up.
We watched a video of a fifteen year old boy in Africa who made his own dj system and
radio station with thing he found in the dump because he was really poor. The video is above.
