We used a program called Scratch to help us program games. We started off with the assignment of making a simple pong game. Here's a snapshot of it:
My controls for Paddle 1 are the w and s keys, and my controls for Paddle 2 are the up and down arrow keys. At first, some of the classmates and I thought, "How hard can it be?" Well, it's actually not so simple to program a game:
I think it's amazing how so much code is only capable of giving a super simple game that doesn't even look like much.
We also worked with a program called BYOB, a Scratch-related program except you can "Build Your Own Block" hense the name. I used BYOB to make my own game. Click the green flag. When you click it, you will have the abilty to move the red ball. To move it, you use the arrow keys. Find your way to the finish line, but if you touch the maze you lose. Good luck!
