The Server Project

On September 17, 2013, we took apart a Server and we looked at all the parts inside.

Server

The server is the housing component for all of the following parts.

CPU

This is a CPU. This is the Central Processing Unit. This decides what everything in the computer does and where data goes. Sometimes it

even called the brain of the computer. This is because it works a lot like the Human Brain.

Mother Board

The Mother Board is the central circuit of the server. It controls the way electricity works inside the server. It is also connected to everything inside of the Server.

RAM

RAM stands for Random Access Memory. This Controls the way your computer works and how smoothly it switches activates. This helps your computer move quickly and over come hard tasks.

Hard Disk

The Hard Disk Stores information even when the computer. This would be like saved files for word or even this website.

Clock Battery

This battery keeps the clock powered when the computer is shut. This means that the time will always be right.

Video Card

This controls your graphics for video games. Also if you are playing a game or a video it lets it run smoothly.

Monitor

The monitor displays what the server tells it too. It lets the user see what they are doing and makes the experience much better and easier.

Keyboard

The keyboard allows you to write out words onto the computer or a word document. Without the keyboard this website would have been close to impossible to and it would not have been as fun.
