Multiple Intelligence

There a multiple ways to know that you are intelligent and in 1983 a man by the name of Howard Gardner found out what those are and wrote a book called Frames of Mind: The Theory of Multiple Intelligences. The first one being musical-rhythemic and harmonic (sounds, rhythem, tones, and music), the second being visual (seeing etc), the third being verbal (readng, speaking, writing and language), 4. logical (abstractions, reasoning, numbers and critical thinking), 5. kinesthetic ( intelligence are control of one's bodily motions and the capacity to handle objects skillfully), 6. Interpersonal (interacting with other people), 7. Intrapersonal (interacting with yourself), 8. Naturalistic (nurturing and relating information to one's natural surroundings), 9. Existential (spirituality). That is basically the only ways to know that you are intelligent I'm pretty sure. And That's about it.

Chatter Bots

A chatterbot is a computer program designed to simulate an intelligent conversation with one or more human users via auditory or textual methods, primarily for engaging in small talk! It's very awesome and neat, some of them include Cleverbot, Jabberwacky, and A.L.I.C.E. The first chatterbot was called ELIZA, and was piublishhed in 1966. The first one that I started using was the most popular one and that was Cleverbot and let me tell you that it's pretty cool. I've used it in the past when it was out there on the internet and didn't got into it or found any importance to it but now in computer science I'm enjoying it because of the whole AI. The next one that I used was A.L.I.C.E and no not from Resident Evil but just a reqular computer program and I fairly enjoyed it all I did was make fun of it and it did not take that nicely. The final one that I used jabberwacky and I didn't really use that one it cool and all and a lot better than A.L.I.C.E but I didn't find it interesting.

This here is a conversation that I had with cleverbot. As you can see Cleverbot is really philosophical saying that life has no meaning but it's also very American, which is what I like. An American AI program is best program and it's quoting the intro to American Dad.

If you want to make your own AI program it's not that hard really but these are the first steps to start with. Then the rest is up to you and you can put whatever you want (I'm not going to add a whole paragraph on this so whatever)

Here is Probably the best answer that I have gotten by Cleverbot, 42. You know what that means "Death". It's a deep meaning to what life is etc. (It's a reference to a movie called Hitch-hikers guid to the galaxy and of course it makes sense.)

That's about it with Chatterbots. ONTO THE HISTORY OF AI!!

History of AI

The intellectual roots of AI, and the concept of intelligent machines, may be found in Greek mythology. Intelligent artifacts appear in literature since then, with real (and fraudulent) mechanical devices actually demonstrated to behave with some degree of intelligence. Some of these conceptual achievements are listed below under "Ancient History." After modern computers became available, following World War II, it has become possible to create programs that perform difficult intellectual tasks. From these programs, general tools are constructed which have applications in a wide variety of everday problems. Some of these computational milestones are listed below under "Modern History."

Alan Turing

Alan Turing was born June 23 1912 and died June 7 1954 was a British mathematician, logician, cryptanalyst, computer scientist and philosopher. He was highly influential in the development of computer science, providing a formalisation of the concepts of "algorithm" and "computation" with the Turing machine, which can be considered a model of a general purpose computer.Turing is widely considered to be the father of theoretical computer science and artificial intelligence.

John McCarthy

John McCarthy was born September 4, 1927 and died October 24, 2011 was an American computer scientist and cognitive scientist. He coined the term "artificial intelligence" he then developed the Lisp programming language family, significantly influenced the design of the ALGOL programming language, popularized timesharing, and was very influential in the early development of AI.

Marvin Malinsky

Marvin Lee Minsky was born August 9, 1927 (is still alive!) and is an American cognitive scientist in the field of artificial intelligence (AI), co-founder of Massachusetts Institute of Technology's AI laboratory, and author of several texts on AI and philosophy. Marvin Lee Minsky was born in New York City to a Jewish family, where he attended The Fieldston School and the Bronx High School of Science. He later attended Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts. He holds a BA in Mathematics from Harvard in 1950 and a PhD in mathematics from Princeton in 1954. He has been on the MIT faculty since 1958. In 1959 he and John McCarthy founded what is now known as the MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory. He is currently the Toshiba Professor of Media Arts and Sciences, and Professor of electrical engineering and computer science.

Text to Speech and Speech to Text W/ Factbot

Here is the code to creat your very own factbot! But first you need to cread a Wolframalpha account that would give you an ID and you can put it there and BOOM you have own factbot.

This is a few questions that I typed to my fact bot and it new some of it for example the one with "who is Keanu Reeves?" and the other one is "Name famous movies from 1999?" Expecting to see something about random movies that were famous like "The Matrix"

text to speech is when you would type some for example "Hello there" and it would come out as if someone is talking to you the one we used was called Steel. It was fairly creepy because of the way it sounded and it spoke to fast but it cool hearing that and it made it seem as if you were talking to a person. Speech to text is when you would say some thing and it would be written down, so instead of having to do all that hard and long typing you can just say it. It comes in handy if you dont want to type a lot and so on.

Smartest Machine on earth

Watson is an artificially intelligent computer system capable of answering questions posed in natural language, developed in IBM's Deep QA project by a research team led by principal investigator David Ferrucci. Watson was named after IBM's first CEO and well-known business reformator Thomas J. Watson. The computer system was specifically developed to answer questions on the quiz show Jeopardy!. In 2011, Watson competed on Jeopardy! against former winners Brad Rutter and Ken Jennings. Watson received the first prize of $1 million.

Rock Paper Scissors

Today in class we were programming games not the scratch games or any of those 3D looking games, we were using python. YES PYTHON! And let me tell you this you might think oh it doesn't sound hard at all because all you gotta do is program the computer to pick scissors or paper or roc but let me tell you this is was not like that at all.....at all. You had to program it do things and you would get some errors and that would annoy you so much and eventually give up but me having a small ego decided to do it and guess what i did it and it works quite well.

Here is the code that was used to make the rock paper scissors game just follow the instructions and it will hopefully give it to you

Here is part 2 of the code and boom your done. you have succesfully made a rock paper scissors game.

This would be the final result of your programming and as you can see I lost every single game because I suck. Also there's nothing special about it just a game of pure luck.

Hangman

I will not be going to add much mainly because this one was the worst out of the three. Mainly because it was so confusing and annoying not to mention there a lot of errors but I will show the code and you can do what ever you want with it. I am done with this dumb hangman game.

Tic Tac Toe

Tic tac toe was another game that we had to program and this one was a whole lot easier to do. Mainly because the code was a whole lot easier than that stupid hangman

Here is the first part of the code that was used to make the Tic Tac Toe game if you ever wanted to make it.

Here is the second part of the code. Have fun making the tic tac toe game!

This should be the final outcome of the code and it should look like that. Not to mention it's a two player game! Enjoy

That's it for the the AI week I had fun making all the games and learning about new things especially about AI. Even though I had some things happen to me I somewhat overcame them. Thank you
