This is a picture of a hard drive. Hard drives allow you to store pictures, videos, texts, software, ect. This hard drive was inside a tower my group in class took apart and had to clarify what each component in it was to get familiar with the parts inside and what they do to help the computer function properly.

This is a heat sink. The heat sink allows you to cool down your computer from running all of the programs you have open at the same time. Without a quality heat sink your computer can be at risk of overheating and that can destroy your entire system costing you hundreds of dollars to repair in the future that's why it's important to make sure that yours if properly functioning.

This is a motherboard. The motherboard is the processor of the video card, the CD drives, the fans, the HDD, the ram, ect. It is like glue it holds everything in your computer together. It also holds onto the central processing unit (cpu) and has every component connected to itself.

This is a power supply. The motherboard is the processor of the video card, the CD drives, the fans, the HDD, the ram, ect. It is the heart of the whole computer and distributes the power to all of the circuits inside the computer to make sure that everything functions properly.

This is a RAM. The RAM is like a thinking room it saves your files temporarily and allows you to open them & close them later whenever you need them. The RAM is also accessible without having to actually touch it to get the memory from it.

This is a disk drive. The disk drive stores digital information on your computer permanently. It is also so that your computer can read and write from computer disks.
